Linus Takes on Microsoft

May 18th, 2007 Ben Cecka 2 comments

Personal Computer World tells us that Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux kernel, “has asked Redmond to name the infringements so that their veracity can be challenged and workarounds found” in their article titled, Torvalds tells Microsoft to put up or shut up.

It’s almost becoming characteristic of Microsoft to call foul against Linux and then offer little substance or extremely biased evidence behind it. Until they pursue a patent for creating a bloated and unstable Operating System, I doubt this will go very far. If something is found to infringe, it will be only a short matter of time to alter the code to avoid it.

The Ubiquitous “Hello World” Post

May 17th, 2007 Ben Cecka 4 comments

All good things must come to and end, but sometimes something positive will surface as well. Since I felt like I was geeking up my family blog a little too much lately, this is my new home to stretch, yawn, and yammer away about the so-called digerati. Have fun… I know that at least one of us will!

$var = 'Hello World!';
if ($visit == true)
echo $var;
